If for some unfortunate reason you can only do one hike in the North Cascades, make sure that it is Sahale arm. This hike has everything: accessibility, stunning views of glaciers, jagged peaks, wildflowers, alpine lake, waterfalls, panoramic views.
The hike starts with 36 switchbacks (we counted) through shaded forests before opening up to Cascade pass (3.7 miles, ~1700 ft from trailhead). This is what cascade pass looks like:
Once you reach Cascade pass and are done marveling the views, continue on to climb towards Sahale arm. You'll reach the top of a ridge, with 360 views. Here's one side of the view with Doubtful lake below:
Continue on towards Sahale arm and in WTA's words, you'll be struck with panorama paralysis:
